I listen to Levin most every night and when I can't I download the show and catch it the next morning. Mark is a good companion to take along when I go out for my 10 mile bike rides. He keeps me company and makes the ride feel like I have only just gone down the block. He does all the talking and never asks me what I think. Because he doesn't care what I nor anyone else thinks.
But here on the quiet page I am master, as he is master behind his microphone. We both have our stages from whence we speak our minds. Neither encroaches on the other. It's better that way. One can hear out the other. Well, from my side I doubt he is reading this blog and if he did he wouldn't find it that interesting since it isn't praising him endlessly. But nevertheless we continue on.
One thing that I have noticed here over the last few months is that Mark seems to be dealing with a nagging cough. He told one of his listeners that that is related to his heart condition. I suspect that it is. He has a temper and here of late has been getting quite excited about things. I said in my first blog that I expect him to be blowing a gasket here in the near future if he doesn't get a handle on things.
The one thing that Mark has that the other two Triumvirate members don't seem to possess is the ability to feel and experience any real emotion. Rush laughs everything off. He thinks this is all some kind of game to keep him employed. Hannity sits back and shakes his head in "grave disappointment" as he takes the "spiritual" attitude and prays for his enemies. Those two are such side show freaks that it's amazing they are all friends. I mean, I'm not shocked that they are. But Mark would definitely be the odd man out in that group.
I can just see Rush telling Mark to "calm down there little buddy, it's only a game. Don't get so upset. This is what politics is all about. Enjoy it and laugh all the way to the bank." Then there is Hannity. I can just hear him telling Mark to "see them for what they really are and pray for them. Pray for all the people that they are taking advantage of. And, oh by the way, I am having another ROAD TRIP and want you to join me and my friends on it. Can you be there?"
That is the depth of those two. If it weren't for the sport of politics those two wouldn't have jobs. What could Rush do if he wasn't calling the Political sport game? Nothing. He knows how to do nothing other than that. If he ever did news (back in the dark ages) he couldn't do it now because he isn't what the companies would want. Are there any newsmen anymore? I can't think of any except Brian Williams. I don't think we have any regular newsmen anymore. They are all political opinion people.
I know Hannity would be out of a job if politics were to go away. He would have to go into the field of televangelism. He could pray for us all.
But then there's Mark. He's not like his other two brethren. He cares. Cares about his country. He actually said last night on his show that "Family" is the most important thing. Well no Mark, it isn't. Family is a little further down the list than that. God is supposed to come first, then everything else. These Jews amaze me with their attitudes. They can sit there and tell you all about the world but when it comes to ANY aspect of spirituality they are silent for the most part. And then they cry because God has dealt severely with them. They do everything in their power to live in and of the world and then cry because of the hardship. No wonder God asked the Gentile in. At least with us Gentiles he can get a little respect. But don't tell the Jews that, they think they have God all wrapped up to themselves.
I listen to Mark and for the most part am in full agreement with what is going on politically. But Mark continues to labor under the facade that something can be done about it. If he would go back to Jewish scripture and try and understand what it says he would have to accept the "possibility" that there is a prophecy playing out before his eyes. He is living a prophetic event. There is nothing he can do but what he has been sent here to do. Mark Levin has a purpose. He has been put here for a reason.
Now here is where it will seem like I am talking out of both sides of my mouth but actually both of these sides are relevant.
Mark has passion, make no mistake about it. This passion will probably kill him. But he has passion. He believes. But it is what he believes in that is wrong. He believes in a country. He believes in a way of life. He believes in freedom. None of these things are spiritual. These are all temporal things. They will pass away whether it be by political mayhem or by just plain old man made destruction. It means nothing in the grand scheme of things. We have things for a time and in time everything passes away.
Lawyers fascinate me. Because as good as they are in finding loopholes and playing word games, they are such one dimensional thinkers. But don't tell them that, they think they have a good bead on things.
Where Mark is right is when he says to care about something. Believe in something and fight for it. This is correct thinking. But it's what it is applied to that makes the difference. Let me explain.
Let's say that you have a favorite VCR tape that you love. It is the only copy in the world and you have kept it all this time. But over time you have become complacent and have taken this VCR tape for granted. Believing that it will always be around because after all, it's still here isn't it? But the tape is degrading slowly. Every time you watch it you can see that the quality isn't as clear, the picture is more fuzzy. The tape hangs up more and it gets harder and harder to watch.
Now what can you do? Have you taken care of it the best you can up to this point? Well, have you? Did you make sure that it was in a temperature controlled environment? Did you make sure that the container it was in was the best possible for the longevity of the tape? Did you make sure that the player that you used was the best and was kept up? Have you spent enough time maintaining the tape and the player? I believe the answer would be NO. This isn't to mean that you didn't do anything, but the chances of you doing every single thing humanly possible probably wasn't done either. As with most things, people are lazy and do take the majority of everything in their lives for granted. This is a known human problem. It happens.
The fact is that the tape is going to degrade no matter what you do. You can take EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE step to protect that VCR tape and it will still degrade. You cannot stop that. In essence, nothing lasts forever.
Countries and ways of life DO NOT LAST FOREVER Levin. Why can you not understand this simple fact? What is it about this concept that is so hard to understand? You are a sharp legal mind, you should be able to grasp this simple concept. It is applicable in every single aspect of life. Where is the problem here?
Our culture is destined to fail. Is has to be. Spiritually speaking, prophecy must be fulfilled. You cannot say you believe in God and then turn around and deny prophecy. It doesn't work that way. Our culture is failing. Our country is failing. Man must do what man is destined to do - destroy himself.
Let your passion be more spiritual. If you are going to be passionate, be passionate about man's need to seek God. In his last days of travail let me seek the solace of God and let God do what he must do. Why fight something that you are going to lose? Family is not first. Family is last. God is first. Salvation is first. Not the world nor the things of it.
I understand your passion but it is grossly misplaced. And unless you see the light you are in fact most likely going to have another heart attack and it could very well be on the air to the delight of your enemies. Why hand them such an easy victory? Why not fight them on the plane that they are in fact on? Why shadowbox? Such a waste of true God given talent. Wasted on only the shadows of your enemies. So who is being fooled here?
You might do well to rethink your position on all this. Stop being a recluse, stand up and direct your passion at the one point where it will do the most good and let God direct it where it needs to go and he will make sure that you are able to fight the good fight, run the good race and serve him as you were intended to.
But don't take my word for it.
